In my case, I work from the comfort of my own home. I work for a software company called Tasktop based in Vancouver BC. I provide training for our software to customers, partners and employees. All of this is done remotely (over the internet). I also help manage the documentation of knowledge for our customers and teams. Below are the top 10 reasons why I chose a job that allows me to work remotely.
- More time with family. The time I save spent on commuting can instead be used to read books or play with my kids or perhaps enjoy breakfast and lunch with my wife who is a stay-at-home mom
- Flexible time. You decide when you want to work and organize your blocks of time according to your own preferences. I generally like to work between 8 to 4 but there are times when I prefer to work earlier or a bit later. There's also times that I may want to go for a run or go to the gym and I can easily manage my time to fit that in and still be able to get my work done.
